Over the past few months, I have upped my time spent on marketing my business. This is how it should be in order to maintain our income level. Clients who leave need be replaced. Marketing should be a continuous activity in order to survive and progress.
Marketing has consumed me. I love it because it has a direct impact on my business success. I did not got any outside help since I could not find anything that would give me value for money.
My marketing efforts have yielded good results in terms of client recruitment. Continue reading “My Week – Failed juggling act”
I started my one evening a week class a on social media this week. This will continue for the next 14 weeks.
The first class was enjoyable and it was good to meet people from diverse backgrounds. Cynical old me loved meeting people! That is rare. The majority in the class are from a creative background.
The course coverage is spot on. Finally, I found exactly what I was looking for. The added benefit is that I am not getting social media lessons from other accountants! I think accountants are great as accountants but I do not think they should advise on social media. Continue reading “My Week – Back to College”
The fact that I do not have as many years as I would like left in me as a healthy and a productive person for some reason hit me this week. All this was at the back of my mind before.
It does not mean I will sit back and stop working towards my dream. It means I will force myself to have a balanced life. This process has already started with me not working weekends any more. I will extend this by taking time off as leave in addition to the weekends. Continue reading “My Week – Me”
I am sure I am not alone for wanting to have a work environment where there is mutual trust. Where you feel to free to leave everything without concerns for items going missing.
I am disappointed with my staff. Though on the last incident I am not 100% certain whether it was him. On other incidents, I am certain.
Starting with the last incident first. I left my wallet in the office yesterday. My staff had a day off. This morning, when I got to the office late, my staff said to me your wallet is here. Pointing to my desk. I did not think much of it and put the wallet in my bag. Continue reading “Lighter wallet”
Time is flying! Can you believe it? Already April is so near. It will be the fourth month of the year. So in 8 months we will hit the end of the year. No!
My week was incredibly busy planning changes to my website. I met with my new web person and the branding person. They are both expensive. The branding person is very good. Continue reading “My Week – Website”
I decided to change the title of My Sunday Ramblings to My Week. This is because it is a better reflection of my weekly blog. One other change is changing the day of this weekly blog from Sunday to Friday. This just works out better for me.
I am exhausted today so I will dive straight into the subject matter.

It was an emotionally exhausting week. My mother’s carer is finally sorted. She is happy with her. This was quickly replaced by a far bigger problem.
It has been four years now and the doctors still have not been able to work out what the medical problem is with my mother. In her hospital appointment this week the neurologist said it may be motor neurone disease (MND).
My father had MND. At late stages of this disease, I have no doubt, I would opt for euthanasia. HERE is further information about MND. The video on the website does not reflect the experience I saw my father go through.
She will be admitted in the Hospital next week Sunday as an inpatient to undertake further tests. We (siblings) will wait and see how it goes. If it is MND, we will discuss how we address this on a day to day basis.
Life has to go on through a balancing act between caring for my mother and running my business. Let’s face it I am not the only one who has to do this.
So, how was my working life this week?
